Edina holds a special place in entrepreneur Stacey Schneider’s heart. “Our first delivery included Edina, back in 2005,” Schneider says. Her company NewMom, Inc. (www.newmominc.com), discretely places Welcome Kits on new mothers’ doorsteps. The kits are designed to support moms as they adjust to life with a little one. Edina Welcome Kits include products and offers from local businesses: Goodnight Moon, Let’s Dish, James Loren Salon and Creative Kidstuff. Schneider started NewMom, Inc. after having her first child, when she found herself looking for tried-and-true products and resources for new mothers. The Welcome Kits are assembled by Opportunity Partners, a nonprofit that supports adults with disabilities. – Maggie Shea
