How to deal with baby blues, depression, anxiety and stress
Adjusting to life with a new baby can be stressful and hormones certainly don’t make it any easier. Many women experience physical symptoms, like sweating and nausea, as well as emotional symptoms, like sadness and irritability. 80% of women experience the “blues” in the first three weeks following the birth of a baby. Around 20-30% of mothers develop anxiety and/or depression at some point in the first year and a very small number of women develop a more serious form of post-partum psychosis.
If at any point you are concerned about your thoughts or feelings and whether they are normal, check them out with someone.
